Scremerston – St Peter

We drove south from Tweedmouth through Spittal – but if the ecclesiastical building on the left was St John’s church there is no way of telling – and then up, under the railway, and followed the old A1 south through Scremerston. NU007494. Pevsner dismisses the 1842 church of St Peter in two lines – perhaps he couldn’t get in either. The door is rather interesting – bet they had a job getting that made:
